Kirsten Gillibrand Congratulates Women's TAP Fund on 25th Anniversary

On October 4th, 2018, the Women’s TAP Fund celebrated it’s 25th anniversary with an event where many past and present candidates and supporters were in attendance. Even though Kirsten Gillibrand’s duties as a seated United States Senator for New York State prevented her from attending, she sent the following letter that was read at the event.

(The original letter can be viewed below the text).

Dear Friends,

It is a privilege to send greetings to everyone attending the Women’s TAP Fund 25th Anniversary Celebration. I join you in celebrating all of your accomplishments in the past 25 years.

I am grateful for the Women’s TAP Fund for their constant efforts in ensuring that women are represented in Western New York government. The Women’s TAP Fund’s dedication to supporting pro-choice women seeking elected office has helped positively impact policies that affect women’s lives in a geographic region that has low representation of women elected to government. The women celebrating 25 years of progress are leaders in their communities and inspiring to others.

As you celebrate the positive and meaningful contributions the Women’s TAP Fund has made in our state, it is my hope that your efforts inspire others to take part in actions, large and small, public and private, to create a better New York.

Please accept my best wishes for a wonderful event and many more years of continued success.

Sincerely,
Kirsten Gillibrand
United States Senator
